  • Made in Japan by Iwachu Japan.

Please check the product for any cracks or other damage on the main unit and that the handle is solid.

Before use:

  • After lightly rinsing the body, fill about 80% of the capacity with water and bring to a boil over medium heat.
  • Then discard the hot water. Repeat this 2-3 times. *Please be careful of empty firing.
  • At first, the hot water will be cloudy due to the metallic taste, so please repeat it 2-3 times and use it after the boiled water becomes colorless.
  • Bring to a boil over medium heat *If you boil the water with low heat, the water will become cloudy.

After Use:

  • Do not leave the remaining hot water inside the iron kettle, but transfer it to a pot, etc., and be sure to empty it.* Leaving hot water in the water for a long time may cause rust or cloudy water.
  • Allow teapot to cool completely after each use before cleaning.
  • Do no use soaps or detergents. - Avoid contact with salt/oils.
  • Do not leave water or tea in pot for extended periods of time.
  • Remove the lid and dry the inside completely with residual heat or a short light flame before putting it away. Do not touch the inside of the pot immediately after as it is very hot.
  • Red spots appear on the inner surface as you use it, and then a white film of hot water scale appears, but please do not rub it off. If a film of scale is formed, the water will remain transparent even if the inside is red, and the hot water will taste even better. *Please be assured that iron rust does not harm your body.

Cleaning the surface (outside)

  • Wipe off the water on the surface (outside) of the iron kettle with kitchen paper or a dry cloth so that no moisture remains.
  • When you want to create a unique luster While the iron kettle is still hot (such as after boiling water), gently wipe it with a tightly wrung out cloth. When the hot water becomes cloudy due to rust / When the boiled water has an odor
  • Boil sencha - After lightly rinsing the main unit, add water up to the 8th minute, add about a teaspoon of sencha in a dashi pack or tea pack, and boil it from water for about 30 minutes. This is a metal stop that uses the chemical reaction between tannin and iron contained in sencha. After the tea is boiled, the hot water may become slightly colored, but it can be used once the red rust-like turbidity and metaliness disappear. The color will soften as the water boils. *Please be careful of the empty hot pot. *Please be careful of spills.
  • Bring the water to a boil over medium heat or lower while removing the steam by removing the lid so that the hot water does not overflow.
